Google Drive as File Server

Instead of sharing a folder or file via the default link

https://drive.google.com/folderview?usp=sharing&id=0B1VFRCi6...yT00 

there is the possibility to share without the Drive GUI like

https://www.googledrive.com/host/0B1VFRCi6...yT00

where 0B1VFRCi6...yT00 is the Drive-ID of the folder/file.
All files then are handled by the browser and not through the Drive viewers. E.g. HTML files are rendered and in a folder one can download a file with right-click of the mouse etc.
